No one can do everything and great retailers know it. They give their staff the power to handle most complaints and authority to merchandise and oversee departments.

They encourage their staff to run with new ideas. Then they reward them with bonuses or other incentives and praise. Great retailers know that an employee who treats the business as if it was his or her own, is a valued asset.
